BLIND FAITH

When Bartimaeus heard that Jesus from Nazareth was nearby, he began to shout out, ” Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” “Be quiet!” some of the people yelled at him. But he only shouted louder,” Son of David, have mercy on me!”
Q. What does the blind man see about Jesus ? What stops you from throwing yourself at the mercy of Jesus?
Have you heard the saying ” Going on blind faith?” When you go ahead and trust, not knowing what’s ahead or how it will turn out, you just know that all will be well.
Bartimaeus couldn’t see Jesus , but he KNEW who He was. He wasn’t concerned with how he looked or sounded to others , shouting at the top of his voice. In fact the more they tried to stop him from pursuing Jesus , the more adamant and persistent he became in his quest. He could have listened to his peers, sat quietly and blended into the crowd, but he chose blind faith. A faith that propelled him through his circumstance, defying the pressure of the throng that surrounded him , to seek out the One he KNEW could and would heal him.
Oh that we would have a blind faith!
What is that stops us from surrendering to Jesus? Is it our pride, are we too concerned with what others may think ? Is it fear, are we worried that He may not answer our request? Do we feel unworthy of the asking? Do we doubt that He hears ? Or do we place more substance in the natural, rather than the Supernatural ?
Jesus said ” Your faith has healed you.” Imagine if we were to throw ourselves at His feet, in blind faith!
And then we followed Jesus down the road. Mark 10:52
Imagine!
