A woman’s age old struggle……Finding the time and space to ‘Be still’.
Our hours are divided, in this age more than any other period in history, between so many and varied responsibilities. It can be overwhelming and exhausting.
Distractions are numerous and our order of priority may often become confused and unclear.
‘Listen, O daughter, Consider and incline your ear…image.’ Psalm 45:10
Could it be……if we gave Him, the very first of our day….
‘Be still and know that I am God…’ Psalm 46:10….And spent a portion of our time and all of ourselves in His Presence, that the hours ahead, hectic as they still may be, will flow……In and with ELOHIM ; His strength and power. Knowing JEHOVAH-JIREH; He will provide, and walking with the knowledge of JEHOVAH-SHALOM ; The Lord our Peace.
This is my prayer for you today….Lx

Flicking through one of my old journals, I came across an entry I had made 4 years ago. I periodically read my penned thoughts to revisit inspiration, seeing how far I’ve traveled…or in some cases, not. The Ahhh moment. THIS is how He speaks to me. When I am not journaling, I experience an emptiness, something is missing. During seasons in my life that have taken me through some of the darkest moments, I have not journaled. This is how I pray and when I most needed to communicate with Him, to write, I didn’t. Prayer, as I had always assumed was a verbal exercise, and for most I guess it is, but I’m different. Expressing my innermost thoughts has always flowed more freely through the written word. I’m certainly not an extraordinary writer, however at times I am compelled to share the inspiration given to me with others. This entry has spoken anew again to me and the message within is for You. I pray it too is your Ahhh moment.
Isaiah 41:9-11
I have called you back from the ends of the earth so you can serve me. For I have chosen you and will not throw you away. Do not be afraid for I am with you. Do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.
Sitting here at the top of Mt Tomaree gazing out at the sea, sun shining, casting a pathway of sparkling gold from its early morning haunt, the breeze warm and gentle on my face, listening to nature preparing for a new day, the melodic song of a magpie fills the crisp morning air.
I ponder anew…….” How great is my God “. Basking in such beauty and peace stirs something deep within me, a sense of the Grandeur of my God, how totally impossible yet possible He is. I CAN be still and know that He is God. To sit and bathe in the knowledge of Him is truly breathtaking. To quiet my mind and allow Him to speak to me, to feel His reassuring presence, I am His. He has my life , my world in His hands, He has set my path before me, I can trust in Him. A defining moment of truth…… I am purposed.
My Destiny lies at the end of my obedience.
She is clothed with strength and dignity, she laughs with no fear of the future.
How great is my God
I don’t know if you have or are experiencing that place of darkness, but I had wandered far from this knowledge. I had gotten lost in the storms of life. Instead of holding fast to the life raft…..I jumped out.
“I was foolish and ignorant yet still I belong to you. You are holding my right hand. You will keep on guiding me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny ” Psalm 73:22-24
So whether you have lost your way, forgotten your purpose, or simply just need to Be Still and Know, remember He has you in His hands beautiful Sista, where ever you may be.

This is one of my favourite times of the year, Jacaranda season.
The coastal city of Newcastle where I live is one of the best kept secrets, we have the most amazing beaches and lake. Our proximity to wine country, Port Stephens and the big city, Sydney is more than convenient, not to mention the friendly locals and enviable laid back lifestyle . And it’s green, lush and green. There are no shortage of parks and bush land , reserves and picnic spots abound. Every shade of green that you can imagine. I’ve often wondered how many there could possibly be, but every time I look nature offers me another. Especially on dusk, the rich hues appear magnified as the sun begins to disappear.
As I was driving around attending to my long list of errands, admiring the beauty of springtime , my eyes and senses were intermittently treated to splashes of beauty. I couldn’t help but smile. Dotted all over my hometown are Jacaranda Trees, which are now in full bloom. Their statuesque beauty and vivid colour are breathtaking. I had to stop, so I parked my car and ventured a walk through the park. I don’t know why they affect me so, but as I strolled along the path, it was as though I walked on air, my heart light, all cares far away. The breeze blew and I found myself wandering through lilac snow as petals liltingly fell softly to the ground where they joined in a purple haze of soft carpet under my feet.
Low bowing branches revealed the intricate myriad of clustered flowers, delicate and velvety to the touch.
I could have lingered for hours, soaking in the calming atmosphere, all of my senses alive and memories…..memories evoked of beautiful experiences.
When I stop and take the time to consider and behold the incredible works of His hand, I am found totally in awe of Him. That He would think to give me Splashes of Beauty in my daily walk. I know that there is beauty all around me every day but these are special, spirit stirring encounters which move me to proclaim ” My God How Great Thou Art “.
It’s so easy to get caught up in the sameness of our everyday experiences to miss the little splashes of beauty that He places in our path. But oh, what an incredible blessing it is when we be still and know, when our eyes are opened to the grandeur of His creation.
I worship His majesty.
” When I consider your heavens the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, that you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? You made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honour.” Psalm 8:3-5
