DOES YOUR FAITH HAVE FEET……And what shoes are you wearing ?

image
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says…
“Faith, by itself, if not accompanied by action, is dead.”
James 1:22-25, 2:17
Does your faith have feet and what kind of shoes are you wearing ?
Shoes……….. I love shoes. To be honest they are one of my weaknesses. I find it hard to pass up a good shoe bargain, because every girl knows you can’t have too many pairs of shoes , right ! Subsequently there are shoes for all occasions, style , colour, and practicality are taken into consideration when making a purchase and every so often comfort is forfeited simply for appearance.
Shoes are made to be worn. They don’t sit on a shelf as decor, they are not the topic of conversation only to be hidden away in their box in the closet, never seeing the light of day. They have a purpose and a specific function. What’s the point of having shoes if we don’t actually wear them ?
In reality we can be excessive, but we can never have too many pairs of shoes to put on our feet of faith.
God is very clear……Don’t just listen……Do !
Work Boots for the tough and gritty, runners for the long hauls, gumboots for mud and storms, hikers for arduous terrain, slippers to walk softly and gently, thongs when things get hot, sandals in times of comfort and heels to carry beauty.
We have been chosen …..” God’s instruments to do His work and speak out for Him… ” 1 Peter 2:9-10 ( MSG )
I don’t know about you, but I certainly don’t want to be deceived or living a dead faith ! We need to be prepared every day to slip into whatever type of shoe is needed to DO His work.
Raid your closet and drag out those shoes you have tucked away. WEAR them, wear them until you cannot wear them anymore! There is no shortage of size or availability in Gods shoe store, and they are free, because He will always give us what we need to do His work.
” How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring the good news of peace and salvation…..” Isaiah 52:7
Putting feet on our faith is not an option. God does not give us shoes just in case we may need them or feel like wearing them. He intends for us wear them out. Don’t be concerned if the fit doesn’t feel quite right, or is a little uncomfortable at first, they have to be worn in. God does not fit shoes incorrectly. He knows exactly what size we need, and what style is required.
It’s time to have beautiful feet !

METAMORPHOSIS

For in Him we LIVE and MOVE and EXIST. Acts 17:28image
I read this verse about a week ago and I just cannot seem to move on from it. Random moments of thought take me to it, burning it into my memory. ‘Tis only a short verse, but these words hold within the essence of life itself……the aroma of our being.
………For in Him…….
We LIVE…..Have life, continue to be alive and subsist
We MOVE……Progress, change and take action, dwell in our environment
We EXIST…… Have life and vitality, have being and be.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to know ! Psalm 139:6
To live out each day, to know that I know that I know………
I Move, I Live, I Exist in Him.
Night and day difference
A metamorphosis in living life……
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18

START YOUR DAY THE RIGHT WAY

image
This is my heart for you today, because He knows when you rise and when you fall and He knows of your comings and goings, he has seen and sees all that is before you.
Let me hear of your unfailing love to me in the morning,
For I am trusting you
Show me where to walk, for I have come to you in prayer………
Teach me to do your will, for you are my God.
May your gracious Spirit lead me forward on a firm footing.
Psalm 143:8,10
What a beautiful way to begin each new dawn of day. To hear of His love for us, stepping out knowing that we are special and valued. Facing all that comes our way, navigating every experience and encounter…..trusting……simply because we have asked that He will guide us in the right direction. That He will help us to choose wisely and confidently. And that no matter what the day may bring our feet are firmly planted on a strong and solid foundation.

RESOLUTION

image
Well, it’s that time of the year again…..January…….New Year Resolutions.
We’ve all made them, in the excitement and anticipation of a fresh start, we pledge ourselves to pursuing the promises we have made to better our person and life. And we all know where those lofty ambitions culminate, in disappointment and overwhelming feelings of failure……yet again.
What does your New Year Resolution list look like ?
What does it encompass and where does God fit in the order of things?
Is it all about you and your capacity to change, improve and motivate yourself? What is at the top of your list and where will your help come from?
In Haggai 1:5-7 God asks the question…….This is what The Lord Almighty says: Consider how things are going for you! You have planted much but harvested little. You have food to eat but not enough to fill you up. You have wine to drink but not enough to satisfy your thirst. You have clothing to wear but not enough to keep you warm. Your wages disappear as though you were putting them in pockets filled with holes! This is what The Lord Almighty says: Consider how things are going for you!
Perhaps the reason our Resolutions end up on the heap of disappointment is not because they are wrong or unworthy of success, but because we have them in the wrong order !
Where does your help come from? Are you running your life on empty, where are you sourcing your fuel?
Rearrange your list , first and foremost place God at the top. His word will fill you to overflowing, an unending fuel supply. Pray about the areas in your life that need an overhaul, Worship Him and let your dreams and aspirations be known, Give of yourself to Him and others and your mounting heap of disappointments will begin to diminish as you live in His strength and not your own.
” Don’t worry about anything; instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and Thank Him for all that He has done.” Philippians 4:6
For I can do everything with the help of Christ who gives me the strength I need. Philippians 4:13
Let this be your New Year Resolution, its a sure winner.
